Bizarrely enough, this started as an idea from Animal Crossing. My mom was trying to make just a butterfly t-shirt and, unsatisfied, remarked that the butterfly body looked more like a necktie. To which, of course, my mind responds with, "Or does a necktie look like a butterfly body..." A couple days later and I'm shooting a photo of myself wearing this. Funny how these things happen, isn't it?
Acrylic paints on a white, button up collar shirt. Picked the first Google images photo of a Monarch Butterfly for my marginal use of stock reference. Was quietly humming Rock Lobster during the entirety of my painting this. |
