And here we finally are: Dejah Thoris (as played by Frieda Pinto). Yes, the girl from Slumdog Millionare. No, I did not see Slumdog. No, I probably never will. But I can still hope that the actress can play Dejah Thoris in the upcoming movie.
For the uninitiated, or those who haven't looked at the other Martian Tales character's I've drawn, this is Dejah Thoris, a Princess of Mars from Edgar Rice Burrough's book, A Princess of Mars.
The top half of the outfit you've seen before, drawn on an earlier picture I tried of Dejah. The bottom half was also in the same picture, but I actually drew it on John Carter. I couldn't come up with anything good on my own for her pants/skirt/shorts/leggings, so I went with the same bottom for John Carter. All of this is based on a culmination of various "native" outfits, the top half being partially Aztec and partially from some tribe in Africa, the bottom half being from a male Aztec warrior's outfit. The crown was my own creation, though very much based on Mike Whelan's cover for the book. I hope you like it.
